In July of 2006, The University of Washington's Center for Conservation Biology approached Uncle Howard's regarding their need for a kennel to house their endangered species scat tracking dogs. After extensive planning and securing the necessary funding, the project began in earnest in the Winter of 2007/2008. Completed in the Summer of 2008, the kennel now houses up to 30 highly trained dogs.
