Uncle Howard has personally chosen the architectural and structural designs, building materials and hardware, and the assembly methods to make sure that each barn package is great.   We try to consider all aspects of the project, both positive and negative, before starting, to avoid surprises. Uncle Howard’s building theory emphasizes starting out right and keeping high standards and accuracy throughout the building process. Our pre-built components enable less than perfect builders to assemble a near perfect building.  Less time is spent on measuring, cutting, and fitting and more time enjoying the assembly.  Unless you are experienced, talented, or patient, you may want to have an experienced carpenter available. One thing is for sure, the finished product will be awesome.

Our design, drafting, and engineering departments can handle your heavy snow, wind, earthquake, and loft loading needs. This is a huge asset when your building department gives you surprises.

We will be able to provide "Wet Stamped" structural plans for most states.

We ship barn kits and packages throughout the United States. The cost of shipping is not automatically included in the kit price. Uncle Howard's often subsidizes shipping depending on the size and overall cost of the order. To minimize shipping costs, we purchase some materials, such as energy efficient windows, in your locale. Our lumber packages are top quality, including rich-looking wood finish laminated posts and beams, kiln dried framing lumber, and full 1" thick cedar fascia and barge boards. All bolts and hardware are included. Yes, we provide nails. Engineered plans come with Uncle Howard's technical assistance by phone or email if needed. Although Uncle Howard's Control-Line Building System makes the process as easy as possible it is always a good idea to have an experienced carpenter available.
