Many of our customers are choosing multiple use designs. These designs focus on horses and horse living while adding space for hobbies and play.
Each Uncle Howard’s Horse Barn Kit is first designed to serve the horses and the horse person. Uncle Howard’s Horse Barn Kits are wide open and spacious. Our post and beam barn designs leave plenty of room for bigger stalls and wider alleyways.

For multiple uses you may choose to add tee or ell shaped wings, side sheds and end sheds to the central horse barn.

Uncle Howard’s has designed the stall kits to be easily removed in case you change your mind. To go with your wood stall fronts we have designed attractive new steel stall fronts with any color powder coating and V-shaped front hangout openings.
Your tall trailer may be parked alongside your barn with the addition of an attractive 16’ to 24’ wide, 24’ to 36’ deep “horse trailer gable.” This gable eliminates height problems commonly associated with tall trailers. This same gable style when added to the other side might be used as living space or make a great covered patio. The overall effect is much like our “Triple Crown” style.

Uncle Howard’s has a wide variety of rooftop accessories to enhance the quality barn look as well as add light and air control to the loft. Our cupolas, widow’s peaks, and dormers come partially assembled and ready to install. They include roof flashing and are ready to paint.

Our stair kits come as heavy timber barn style and standard house style. The stairs can be Straight, L or U shaped.

The side sheds are usually 8’, 10’ and 12’ width. The side sheds can be partially or completely enclosed at no extra cost by moving the central barn wall siding out to the edge of the side shed. The “tee” wings and “ell” wings may be any width, length, and height.
Although most of Uncle Howard’s barn kits have lofts, many people opt for the open ceiling look of the “Pioneer” style.
Uncle Howard’s Horse Barn Kit design is very flexible and lets you choose the openness of the floor plan. You can eliminate every other 12’ post and still carry a loft. The maximum span between posts is 32’.
Our use of Douglas fir laminated timbers combined with the 4’x12’ timber beams and 2’x6’ T&G planking option makes a great lodge ceiling effect.
The alley floor to bottom of planking distance is 11’. The center of the loft to roof peak distance is 12’ or more on most of our barns.
We believe you will not find a stronger, more adaptable barn. We have every barn style and no matter whose stalls and accessories you choose, ours will be the better barn, and at a better price, too.
